Happy in the sun

I clicked this poppy swinging proudly in a James Park cluster..It was a favourite among the photographers there- everybody stopped to have a look; it was so beautiful! I have tried this on a very small size cotman watercolor paper 6"X4" and used Winsor and Newton watercolors here.

A day in London

The Trafalgar Square dotted with people enjoying a clear day...

A fine youngman chasing around the pigeons in James Park ..I would have liked a close up but he wouldn't stand still!

Feeding the ducks and ejoying every minute of it...

It is a male Mandarian Duck. They originate from asia ( China, Russia nad Japan),are frequently featured in Oriental art and are regarded as a symbol of conjugal affection and fidelity. A Chinese proverb for loving couples uses the Mandarin Duck as a metaphor: "Two mandarin ducks playing in water".

A charming old man with a pet Boa

Arjun being quite brave in touching the Boa...

It was a bright day yesterday --so I decided to venture out with my son. I had a motive, too! The art store near the Trafalgar.! So Trafaga Square it was, with a stroll in nearby James Park . It took me a bit long to locate the store. One wrong turn and we got lost in China Town! Thankfully we came around to find the store after an hour but my son got so bored in the process that he wouldn't let me 'enjoy' the experience! So I had to be fast here and still he complained that I was taking so long! I got some nice watercolors and papers from there and hopefully I am going to put them in good use soon!
And not to forget the National Art Gallery...I took a peek there too --a grand affair. I think it will take a whole day to cover all of it ..

The Vertical Rose!

I have been trying to post this image for last half an hour..I painted this rose yesterday in watercolors and wanted to share it today but somehow the image is coming vertical , not the original horizontal!...I haven't been able to figure out why.So , pls forgive me for this little annoyance and enjoy the rose....I painted this earlier in oils, too. So it may look familier.

In London

Hi Everybody....I am back, writing this post from London. I am here on a month long vacation and I hope that I would paint and post some paintings and a lot of photographs of this beautiful place! To start with, however I have only two-- one is the rose bush that I saw yesterday in a frontyard of a home while going to the super market, and second is the scene outside my window --its raining ,off and on since morning -- and you can see the rain drops on the window pane. There are a lot of trees in our backyard and I like the the view.

I will be painting something tomorrow, i guess. Goodbye, till then.

Mothers' Day 2

Since I am also a mother, I was presented with this beautiful Mother's Day Card today; by my son Arjun.( I guess this is the farthest a boy would go!) I loved the card and hope you also enjoy it. A lot of smilies hearts...

Mothers' Day

Here is my tribute to Mothers' day. A sketch of my mom, who has been the guiding force since my early days.We lived in a small town where art education was not available, but she always pushed me to do better, encouraging me to share my art with the world ( I being the shy one)...Each woman who is a mother knows what does it take to be one. It means having her whole life altered so that she can provide a better life and a happy childhood to her offspring! When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts.
A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.- Sophia Loren
Happy Mothers' Day to every mom of the world.

A sunny smile

Another attempt at oils....I took its refrence from a photo of a brilliant Russsian photographer .But its not a copy, just an interpretation.I hope I am not violating any copyrights here!....You can check her out at --http://mechtaniya.deviantart.com/gallery/#_featured--2

I wanted to capture the innocence of childhood combined with the purity and freshness of Nature. Thats why I added alll these sunflowers around her. Its upto you all to tell me if i have succeeded in my humble attempt!

The rose

After a real long time, here am I-- working in oils again!..I hate my habit of being too thorough and I am trying to break away from it. No , I haven't really succeeded here. But I am trying...and soon I will learn to let myself loose ...!I am not happy with this, but I guess it has been hard work, at least; so I should post it.
